When something or someone becomes familiar to us, it is easy to assume that the way we see it is all there is to see. We can miss out on the depth of someone else’s experience, of scripture, or even within our own relationship with our creator by failing to allow ourselves to consider other possibilities. When we have the humility to open ourselves to ask questions, and hear differing perspectives, we may encounter a greater sense of compassion, joy, and beauty in our lives.
